Ernesto Aguiar Rodriguez

Ernesto Aguiar Rodriguez, born 6 February 1961 in La Palma (Canarias), is a member of the Spanish Chamber of Deputies representing the Spanish province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Aguiar Rodriguez is a member of the People’s Party, Partido Popular (PP) and he is a member of the People’s Party Parliamentary Group, Grupo Popular (GP) within the Chamber of Deputies.

Political Career[edit]

Aguiar Rodríguez has been an MP for the Partido Popular from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canarias, for one term, since 2011. Previously, he was a councilor in the city of Breña Baja from 1996 to 1999. From 1999 to 2003 he was the counselor of the Cabildo Insular de La Palma. Furthermore, he was a regional deputy in the Autonomous Community from 2004 to 2007. Nowadays he is the Director General of Rural Development within the Government of the Canary Islands. In the Chamber of Deputies Aguiar Rodríguez is a deputy spokesperson of the Commission of Public Works, and he is a member of the Committee on Agriculture, Food and Environment, of the Racing Rules Committee and of the Commission on Road Safety and Sustainable Mobility.
