Enrique Fajarnés Ribas

Enrique Fajarnés Ribas, born 19 Septmber 1956, is a member of the Spanish Chamber of Deputies representing the Baleares Islands. Fajarnés Ribas is a member of the People’s Party, Partido Popular (PP) and he is a member of the People’s Party Parliamentary Group, Grupo Popular (GP) within the Chamber of Deputies.

Political Career[edit]

Fajarnés Ribas has been an MP for the People’s Party from Baleares Islands, during the VIII, IX and the X legislatures. Previously, he was a member of the National Board of PP and the Regional Vice-President of the PP in Ibiza and Formentera. From 1983 to 1984 he was an adviser to the Government of the Baleares Islands. From 1983 to 1987 he was the Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport of the Insular Council of Eivissa i Formentera and a member of the Parliament of the Baleares Islands. He was the mayor of Ibiza for ten years, from 1989 to 1999. Additionally, he was a senator for Ibiza and Formentera from 2000 to 2004. From 2003 to 2004 he was the first Vice-President and Director of Institutional Relations and Municipal Cooperation and Municipal Government and the spokesperson of the Consell Insular d’Eivissa i Formentera. Finally, he is the current Vice-President of the public company of FECOEF. Nowadays in the Chamber of Deputies, Enrique Fajarnés Ribas is a member of the Committee on Internal Issues and of the Joint Commission for the Study of Drug Problem. Moreover, he is a spokesperson for the Committee on Industry, Energy and Tourism.
