Carlos Aragonés MendiguchÃa
Carlos Aragonés Mendiguchía was born on 14th October 1956 in Leganés (Madrid). He is a National Deputy for the constituency of Madrid in the V, VI, VII, VIII, IX and X Congress.
Political Career[edit]
Carlos Aragonés Mendiguchía started his political career under the mentor-ship of Antonio Fontán, who was a Minister in the of Government of Adolfo Suarez. During his youth, he was affiliated to the Youth Organisation of Liberal Union in the early 1980s. He then joined Alianza Popular in 1987. A few months later he was appointed as Chief of the Cabinet by the then President of the Regional Government of Leon-Castile Jose María Aznar. In 1990, he became Secretary of Studies and Programs of the People's Party (PP), and three years after that he started joined the PP's National Executive Committee. After the General Elections of 1996, Jose María Aznar appointed him as Director of the Presidency Cabinet of the Government, as a Secretary of State until 2004. Nowadays, Carlos Aragonés Mendiguchía is President of the Commission of International Cooperation for Development since 2012, and member of the Foreign Affairs and Culture Commissions.
