Antonio Erias Rey was born on April 26th, 1952 in Vigo.

Political Career[edit]

As a member of the People's Party of Galicia, Coruña in 1999 Antonio Erias Rey was forerunner for the municipal elections, whilst remaining a city spokesman in la Coruña. He was Vice President of the Provincial Government of La Coruña with José Luis Torres Colomer, between 1999 and 2003. he left municipal politics in 2003 and from March 2004 he became the present head of the People's Party's electoral list for the province of La Coruña . As a member of the National Steering Committee of the People's Party he was responsible for the Topics Formation of the People's Party of Coruña. Specifically from 1999 to May 2003 he was Member of the Council of Coruña and Municipal spokesperson of the People's Party. In this same period he served as the Senior Vice President of the Provincial Government of La Coruña and responsible for economic affairs, issues and Procurement Heritage and issues related to the environment of the provincial body. He is a Member of the Committees on Finance and the Environment in the House of Representatives, the Deputy Speaker of the Legislature Committee on Finance. He was appointed National Deputy from March 2008 until November 2011, in the Ninth Legislature, developing tasks Spokesperson on Trade and Industry Committee on Tourism and vocal in Economics and Finance and the Budget.

Education[edit]

He has degree and a doctorate in economics from the University of Santiago de Compostela, with a rating of Excellent Cum Laude, PhD Prize. He has a Doctoral Thesis on Monetary integration in Western Europe.
