Anne Koning

Anne Leonie Koning (born on March 9th, 1970 in Utrecht) is a member of the Dutch Senate for the Labour Party (PvdA). In the Senate she focuses on environmental and economic issues.

Political Career[edit]

Koning was a member of the City Council of Wageningen for the PvdA from 1994 until 1997. In 1995 she was a member of the Dutch House of Representatives for the PvdA for a few months. From 2002 to 2006 she was member of the City Council of Delft.

After the municipal elections of 2006, Anne Koning was appointed councillor of Delft (her portfolio included project Spoorzone, spatial planning, traffic management of the city (public works), cleaning, business district, enforcement and monitoring, and real estate). In 2011 she became a member of the Provincial Council of South Holland. On June 18th, 2013 she became a member of the Senate, as the successor of Kim Putters.

Education[edit]

Anne Koning studied Urban development at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and the Delft University of Technology from 2010 until 2012. She also studied Forestry at the Wageningen University from 1988 until 1994.
