Anna Yankova works as the Director of International Affairs on behalf of the Secretary of State and the State of Maryland.

Biography[edit]

Ms Yankova was born in Ukraine and received her Master’s Degree in International Affairs from American University in Washington D.C. She has worked for the Democrat Party in Maryland for a number of years. Previous positions include working for five years as a liaison officer between immigrant communities and associations and the Mayor’s Office of Baltimore City. She is now the director of International Affairs of the office of the Secretary of State of Maryland.

Alongside her career Ms Yankova is active in a number of other associations and organisations. Anna is a chairperson of Baltimore-Odessa Sister Cities Committee and a board member of “Make It Work”, a not for profit organization in Baltimore. She is also Vice Chair of The Young Democrats of Maryland Women’s Caucus as well as being a member of the B.E.S.T Democratic Club, an organisation which seeks to promote democratic engagement among young people.

As a member of the office of the Secretary of State, International Division, she helps to host different cultural delegations in the State of Maryland: performers, artists that come there with the mission to, again, educate about the culture, build bridges, help to improve the friendship and strengthen diplomacy between State of Maryland, United States and other parts of the world.
