Anna Bieńkowska born 30 April 1946 in Żnino is a Polish politician and member of Polish Parlament since 1989.

Political career[edit]

Anna Bieńkowska joined to Polska Zjednoczona Partia Robotnicza(Polish United Workers' Party-communist party ideologically based on the theories of Marxism-Leninism). in 1976.When in 1989 Polska Zjednoczona Partia Robotnicza was dissolved, she joined to Social Democracy of the Republic of Poland(SDRP), which was founded by ex-liders of Polish United Workers' Party.She was member of this party till 15 Aprill 1999-end of SDRP. One day later she joined to new party Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej(Democratic Left Alliance) which was made founded by ex-liders of PZPR and SDRP. She is with Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej till now. From 1989 to 2005 she was member of Polish Parliament. During this time she was for example chairwoman of Committee on Social and Family Policy. Between 2005 and 2007 Anna Bieńkowska was a councilor in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian regional council. From 2004 to 2010 she was in different left-side parties but in 2010 she returned to SLD. In 2007 she was elected to Polish Parliament and she is member till now.

Education[edit]

Anna Bieńkowska graduated from Higher School of Economics in 1969.
