Maria Odete da Conceição João was born on January 3rd, 1958. She is a secondary education professor and currently serves as a deputy at the Portuguese National Assembly.

Political Career[edit]

She was elected by the electoral circle of Leiria through the Socialist Party to serve as a deputy on the XII Legislature (2011-2015). She has been a deputy since the X Legislature (2005-2009). She has a long record as a member of Parliamentary Commissions but presently, she takes part in various Parliamentary Commissions including the Education, Science and Culture Commission. In addition, she is Vice-President of Socialist Party Parliamentary Group and President of Socialist Women of Leiria´s Federal Department.

Education[edit]

Odete João holds a degree in Mathematics and a Masters in Information and Communication Technologies in Education.
