Nele Lijnen was born on April 12th 1978 in Hasselt (Belgium) and currently has a seat in the Belgian Chamber of Representatives as member of the Flemish Liberal Party (Open VLD).

Political Career[edit]

Nele Lijnen was a member of the Belgian Senate from May 2006 until May 25th 2014, when she got elected in the Chamber of Representatives for the Flemish Liberal Party (Open VLD). Meanwhile she has been active as a local councillor in Hechtel-Eksel since the local elections in October 2012. On the local level, she is responsible for sports, economy and work, equal opportunities, housing, and events. Her main activities take place in the domains of pensions, labour market, health, mobility, and foreign affairs.
