Mirko Cvetković is a Serbian politician and former Prime Minister of Serbia. He was the first Prime Minister elected under a multi-party system and has served as Minister of Finance on two separate occasions.


Biography

In the 1980s, he was an external consultant for the World Bank, after which he was employed as an advisor for economic issues at the Mining Institute. In 2005, he became the Special Advisor at CEO Intercom Consulting. After Slobodan Milošević was overthrown, Mr. Cvetković served as Deputy Minister of Economy and Privatisation in the Government of Zoran Djindjić. From 2003 to 2004, he was the Director of the Privatisation Agency after which he became Minister of Finance in the coalition government of Vojislav Koštunica.

He was elected Prime Minister in 2008, and served as such until 2012.
