Born in Valladolid on 12th December 1963, Miriam Guadalupe Blanco Soto is a Spanish Deputy in the current parliament.

Political Career[edit]

After ending her athletic career, Miriam Guadalupe Blanco Soto was a sports commentator on Spanish state TV (TVE) during the Sydney Olympic Games. She started her political career with the People's Party being elected as a Senator for the constituency of Alicante in the elections of 2000, 2004, 2008. She has been spokeswoman for the Women's Commission, the Spanish Olympic Committee, and President of the Special Committee for the Sport.

Miriam Guadalupe Blanco Soto has a Masters in Sports Science.
