Miranda Calha

Júlio Francisco Miranda Calha was born on November 17th, 1947. He is a professor and currently he serves as a deputy at the Portuguese National Assembly.

Political Career

He was elected by the electoral circle of Porto through the Socialist Party to serve as a deputy on the XII Legislature (2011-2015). However, he has been a deputy since the VI Legislature (1991-1995), always elected by the circle of Portalegre. He has served as State Secretary to National Defense, to Sport and to Regional and Local Administration. In addition, he was member of the Parliamentary Assembly and member of the Commission for Defense of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Western European Union.Presently, he takes part in various Parliamentary Commissions from which he is the Vice-President at the National Defense Commission and an alternate for the Ethics, Citizenship and Communication Commission.

Education

Miranda Calha holds a Bachelor in Arts.
