Marie-Christine Marghem was born on May 22nd 1963 in Tournai (Belgium). She has been a member of the Belgian chamber of Representatives for the Walloon Liberal Party (MR) since 18 May 2003.

Political Career[edit]

In 1994, she got elected as councillor in her hometown Tournai. From 2002 to 2006, she was active as alderman for finance on a local level in Tournai. Since 2003, she holds a seat in the Belgian Chamber of Representatives for the Walloon Liberal Party (MR). In October 2014, she became Minister of energy, environment, and sustainable development in the government.

She graduated in Law.
