Maria das Mercês Gomes Borges da Silva Soares was born on July 15th, 1957. She currently practices as Portuguese Parliamentarian and also as Superior Technic Consultant of the Office for Employment and Training.

Political Career

She was elected by the electoral circle of Setúbal through the Social Democratic Party, either in the XI (2009-2011) and XII (2011-2015) Legislature. From her vast positions held, can be highligth that she is an elected member of the Social Democratic Workers National Council, Director of the Employment Center of Barreiro, Montijo and Seixal and Member of Setúbal´s District Assembly of the Social Democratic Party. Furthermore, she also takes part on several Parliamentarian Commissions, like the Budget, Finances and Public Administration Commission and the Health Commission.

Education

Maria das Mercês Borges is a History graduate.
