Lord Younger is a Conservative member of the House of Lords. He was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Intellectual Property at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills in January 2013.

Political Career

He was elected as a hereditary peer in 2010. He served as a Conservative Party whip before joining the Government in 2012. He was appointed as a Lord in Waiting in 2012. Between 2012 and 2013 he served as Lords Spokesman for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. He also served as Chairman for Milton Keynes Constituency Conservative Association between 2010 and 2013.

Education

Lord Younger studied at Cargilfield School in Edinburgh and Winchester College. He then went on to study Medieval History at the University of St Andrews and holds an MBA from Henley Management College.

Notable Work

Between 1979 and 1984 he worked as a personnel manager at Coats Patons before becoming a recruitment consultant and executive search consultant between 1984 and 1994. He then went on to become Human Resources director of UBS Wealth Management in 1994 until 2004.
