Konstantinos Arvanitopoulos

Konstantinos Arvanitopoulos was born in Piraeus in 1960. He is a Greek politician and professor in International Relations.

Political Career

In the national elections of May 6th he was elected member of the Greek Parliament with the New Democracy In the national elections of June 17th and he was re-elected and was appointed minister of Education, Religious Affairs, Culture and Sport.

Education Career

He studied at Panteion University, with a degree in Political Science (1982).
He was lecturer on International Relations and Comparative Politics at the School of International Service at the American University (1987-89).
He did his post-doctoral Fellow at the Centre for European Studies at Harvard University (1990-92).
He was assistant professor of Government and European Politics at the department of Public and International Affairs at George Mason University (1992-95). He speaks English and German.
