Karamba Diaby

Karamba Diaby is a German chemist and politician. He is a member of the Social Democratic Party Germany (SPD).


Political Career

He was the Head of the EU project "Empowerment of migrants to the sustainable success of the integration and fostering intercultural dialogue" (youth workshop "Merry future" Halle Saalekreis eV) between 2009-2011. He also was the Speaker at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of Sachsen-Anhalt between 2011-2013. Additionally, Diaby was the Chairman of the Bundeszuwanderungs- and Integration Council from 2009-2012. He has been a Member of the SPD-City Association of Halle (Saale) since 2008 and a member of the SPD-Municipal Group in Halle (Saale) (Education Committee and Committee on Planning and Environment Affairs) since 2009.

Education

Diaby studied at the University of Dakar (Senegal) between 1982-1984. He undertook a German course at the Herder Institute at the University of Leibzig from 1985-1986. He also studied Chemistry at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg from 1986-1991. And he undertook his PhD studies at Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg from 1992-1996.

Notable Work

Diaby was the Project Manager, for One-World-house Halle between 1996-2001. He was the project manager for "Intercultural Education" between 2001-2004 at DAA Halle. He was the Head of "migration and integration" of the youth workshop "Merry future" Halle Saalekreis eV from 2005-2008. He also has been a Member of the Alliance "Halle against racism - Alliance for civil courage" since 2010.
