Jouni Backman

Jouni Backman is born on the 30th of March 1959 in Savonlinna, Finland. He is a member of the finnish parliament since 1987 representing the Socialdemocrats parliamentary group. He is married since 1987 and have two children.

Political Career

Jouni Backman started his political career within the Socialdemocrats youths in 1984. In 1985 he became a member of the City Council of Savonlinna, between 2009-2012 he was the Chairman of the Council. He was elected a member of parliament in 1987 and represents the Socialdemocrats. Between 2003-2007 he was the Chairman of the parliamentary group. In 2002-2003 he was the Finnish minister of the environment.

Education

He was studying Social Sciences in 1978.
