Josip Đakić was born on 2 November 1960 in Pitomača, Croatia. He is a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ; Croatian: Hrvatska demokratska zajednica) and has been a member of the Croatian Parliament (Hrvatski sabor) during its fifth, sixth and seventh term.

Political Career[edit]

Đakić's third term of office began on 22 December 2011. He is a chairperson of the War Veterans Committee, a member of the Defence Committee, and a member of the Judiciary Committee. During his previous mandates he was a deputy chairperson of the War Veterans Committee and a member of the Committee on Information, Computerisation and the Media.

Education[edit]

Đakić obtained his qualification of Worker Specialized in Mining and Oil Industry from the Secondary School of Power Industry and Process Engineering in Zagreb.
