Jacek Czerniak

Jacek Czerniak – (born on 30th August 1964 in Świdnik, Poland) – is a Polish politician, local government official , a political scientist, and from 2007 to 2010 the chairman of the regional council of the Lublin province. He has been a Member of parliament since 2011(VII term).

Political Career

Since 1999 he has been a member of the Democratic Left Alliance (Sojusz Lewicy Demokratcznej). In 1999-2003 he served as chairman of the party's policies in Lublin, in 2003-2008 he was secretary of the provincial council SLD. In 2002-2006 he was a councillor of the city of Lublin. In local elections in 2006, he received a mandate as a councillor of the Lublin Regional Assembly. In December 2007 he replaced Andrzej Pruszkowski as chairman of the regional council. In 2008 he was chairman of the provincial SLD. He was a member of the Committee of the Regions. In 2010 successfully ran for reelection in the election of the regional council of Lublin.

In the parliamentary elections in 2011, he won a parliamentary seat, coming first place on the list of SLD in the Lublin district. In 2012 he sat on the board of the national party.

Education

In 1988 he graduated from the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Maria Curie-Sklodowska University.
