Jörn Donner started his political career as a member of the Helsinki City Council 1969-1976. He returned again 1985-1992 and 2005- incumbent. He first became a member of the parliament 1987-1995 and he returned for a short period in 2007 and again in 2013. Between 1990-1991 he was the Chairman of the Swedish Parliamentary Group.
