Iulia Cristina Tarcea

Iulia Cristina Tarcea was born in May 1962 in Romania. She currently is the Vice-President of the High Court of Cassation and Justice Romania.

Professional Experience

She has been a lawyer for ten years in Ialomita, Romania and then Bucharest, Romania. In 1996 she becomes the judge of the Municipality Court of Bucharest. In the same time she worked as The Chief for the European Court of Human Rights. After two years she was promoted as the Director of the Gouvernamental Office for European Court of Human Rights and European Integration between 1999 and 2002. For the next two years she occupies the positition as State Secretary of Justice. In Septemeber 2013, the President of Romania advanced the nomination of Iulia-Cristina Tarcea as Vice-President of the High Court of Cassation and Justice Romania with unanimous backing from Romanian judges.

Education

In 1985 she graduates the Law University in Bucharest. In 1997 she has a preparation internship for European Court of Human Rights and European Council. She can speak English and French.

Special achievements

Since 2003 Iulia-Cristina Tarcea is the co-president of the Anti-corruption Global Forum.

Awards

She was awarded with the Romanian Knight Star.
