Ioannis Gkiokas (Greek: Ιωάννης Γκιόκας; born on January 22, 1980 in Athens) is a Greek politician and lawyer. He is a member of the Communist Party of Greece, elected MP in the constituency of Attica.

Political Career

In the 2007 elections for the Hellenic Parliament he was the first substitute in the constituency of Attica and replaced Dimos Koumpouris, member of the Hellenic Parliament from the constituency of Attica, after his resignation. Reelected in the general election of 2009, when he served as Member of Standing Committee on Social Affairs, and in 2012.

In the current term he serves as a Member of the Standing Committee on Cultural and Educational Affairs, the Standing Committee on National Defense and Foreign Affairs and the Committee on the Parliament’s Library.


Education

Graduate of Physics and Mathematics School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
