Ingo Gaedechens, born July 30, 1960 in Lübeck, is a German politician ( CDU ) and Member of the German Bundestag.

Political Career

Gaedechens became a member of the CDU in 1988. He became deputy county chairman of the CDU Ostholstein and CDU faction chairman of the city council of the city of Burg auf Fehmarn in 1992. In 2009 Gaedechens became a member of the German Bundestag. He is a member of the Defence Committee and also a full member of the Tourism Committee and substitute member of the Committee on Petitions. In 2013 Gaedechens was elected as chairman of the Defence Committee.

Education

He served in the German Navy from 1977 until 1984 and then became a professional soldier. From 2000 to 2007 he was head of the Marine locating point Staberhuk on Fehmarn. From 2007 until his election to the German Bundestag, he was responsible for security in the maritime domain. Since his election to the Bundestag he has been on leave from the Navy.
