Sharon Gesthuizen

Sharon Maria Jacoba Gerarda Gesthuizen, born on the 23rd of January 1976 in the Dutch city of Nijmegen, is a Dutch politician. Formerly she was a businesswoman and trade unionist. She is a member of the Dutch Socialist Party (Socialistische Partij), and has been an MP since 30 November 2006. She focuses for a good deal on matters of economic affairs, asylum and immigration policy, as well as judiciary matters.

Career[edit]

She started her career as a board member of the LSVb, the Dutch National Students Union. She then owned a small video and photo business between 2004 and 2005, after which she served as a member of the municipal council of Haarlem from April until December 2006. In 2006 she started working as a policy offer for the Socialistische Partij, a position she still holds.

Education[edit]

Gesthuizen attend pre-university secondary education (Gymnasium) in Nijmegen, after which she studied at the Arnhem Academy for the Arts.

Sharon was born in Nijmegen on January 23rd 1976.
