Gabriela Moser, born on July 8, 1954 in Linz, is an Austrian politician, high school teacher and a Member of Parliament for the Greens (Die Grünen) since 1994. Moser is the construction, transport and consumer protection spokeswoman for the Greens.

Political career

Gabriela Moser was faction leader for the Greens Linz from 1985 to 1991. Since 1991, she has been a member of the Upper Austrian provincial party executive and from 1996 to 1997, she was a member of the Federal Executive of the countryside. Between 1994 and 1995, Moser represented the Greens in the National Council as health spokeswoman. In 1997, she moved again to the National Council. As of November 18, 2011, she served as chairwoman of the Committee of Inquiry on corruption charges.

Education

Moser attended elementary school (1960-1964) and from 1964 to 1972 a general education in high school. She then began her studies in History and German at the University of Salzburg. She obtained her Masters degree in 1978 and completed her doctorate in 1997.

Notable work

Gabriela Moser received the Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria (Ehrenzeichen für Verdienste um die Republik Österreich) in 2005. The decoration comprises 15 grades and is Austria's highest national honour.
