Foort van Oosten was born on the 25th of June 1977 in Dordrecht. He is a member of the Dutch House of Representatives for the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy.

Political career[edit]

Between 2001 and 2006 he was a lawyer and from 2006 to 2011 he worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the same period he was a member and later the chairman of the Court of Audit in Leiderdorp. Between 2007 and 2011 he was a member of the city council of Schiedam for the VVD. In 2010 and 2011 he was the chairman of the VVD-fraction in the city council of Schiedam. In 2011 and 2012 he was an alderman in the city council of Schiedam.

Education[edit]

Van Oosten studied law at the University of Leiden between 1996 and 2001. In 1999 and 2000 he studied at the ‘L'Institut Sciences Politiques’ in Paris. He also did mediator training and a training to become a lawyer.
