He was elected for the first time in 2013 and since April 2014 he is Parliamentary Secretary for Health. He is also a Member of Foreign and European Affairs Committee (Chairman). He is Labour candidate on Third and Fourth Election District since March 2013. He belongs to the Party of European Socialists (PES).
