Edward Zammit-Lewis was born on the 21st June 1973 in Mtarfa, Rabat, Malta.

Political Career

Edward Zammit Lewis was also chosen by the Labour Party leader today the Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Muscat to represent and assist the Opposition in the rent law reform amendments in 2009 and the to pilot the case related to the VAT registration on cars. He has been Parliamentary Secretary for Competitiveness and Economic Growth (2013 - april 2014) and Minister for Tourism since April 2014.

Education

Edward Zammit-Lewis attended the University of Malta where he graduated with a degree in BA European Studies and international relations and subsequently obtained his Doctor of Laws. He is a lawyer by profession, specialising primarily in litigation in the civil, commercial and human rights sphere. In the 2013 General elections held on the 9th March, Edward Zammit Lewis was successfully elected on the 8 Electoral District and was chosen by the Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Muscat to form part of his cabinet and appointed him a Parliamentary Secretary for Competitiveness and Economic Growth.
