From 1971 to 1981, he was Teaching Assistant for the faculty of Mechanical Engineering in the University of Niš, Yugoslavia. In 1981 he was Assistant Professor for six years for the faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Niš, Yugoslavia. Afterwards, Domazet was an associate Professor in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering within the same university until 1991.
