Dimitris Sampaziotis was born in Karpofora (Pylias), Messinia in 1960. He is a Greek politician and physicist.

Political Career

He was first elected as a New Democracy deputy for Messinia in the elections of 2004. During the period 2004-2007he was a member of the Standing Committee on Social Affairs, the Standing Committee on Production and Trade, the Permanent Committee of the Regions and Head of Sector Transport in the New Democracy parliamentary group. He was reelected as a deputy for Messinia in 2007. During 2008-2009 he became Chairman of the Standing Committee on Public Administration, Order and Justice as well as a member of the Special Parliamentary Standing Committee on Parliamentary Ethics. In the elections of 2012 he was elected as Messinia’s deputy. He is a member of the Finance Committee and Chairman of the Permanent Committee of Regions.

Education Career

He studied at the University of Ioannina (Department of Physics) and TEI of Kalamata (Department of Local Government). He speaks English.

Notable Work

In 1981, he was involved with The Democratic Leadership Renewal – New Democratic Student Movement (D.A.P. – N.D.F.K). In addition, he was a member of the Rural and Mobilization Prefectural Committee until 1986 in The New Democracy Youth Organization (O.N.N.E.D) of Ioannina. Whilst he was a member of the Prefectural Committee, he was also responsible for its Organization and Mobilization up to 1989. Finally, he became a Prefectural Advisor in Messinia, member of the Committee on Education , Social Affairs Chairman and President of the Prefectural Council.
