Brigitte Bierbauer-Hartinger, born on April 11, 1961 in Feldbach, is an Austrian politician for the SPÖ (Sozialdemokratische Partei Österreichs; the Austrian Social Democratic Party). She is a Member of the Federal Council since 2013.

Political Career

From 1979 until 1983, Brigitte Bierbauer-Hartinger was a Member of the Young Generation of the Social Democratic Party for the district Feldbach. Since 2000, She is municipal councilor in the municipality Sinabelkirchen. From 2005 to 2010, Brigitte was a Board congregation member in Sinabelkirchen. Since 2004, she is also Member of the state party committee of the SPÖ for Styria. In addition, Brigitte is Deputy district leader of the Social Democratic Party since 2005 and Chairwoman of the District Weiz since 2007. As of 2013, Brigitte Bierbauer-Hartinger is a Member of the National Women's Board of the Austrian Social Democratic Party.

Education

From 1977 until 1979, Brigitte attended the Federal trade school in Feldbach. In addition she had a training as mentor in the Training Academy East.
