Bart De Wever (21 December 1970) is a Belgian politician. De Wever is president of the N-VA (New Flemish Alliance) and mayor of the city Antwerp.
Political career[edit]
De Wever was a member of the district council of Berchem from 1996 until 1997. Since 2004 he has been the president of the N-VA and in the same year he was elected as a member of the Flemish Parliament. In 2013 he became the mayor of Antwerp and in 2014, was elected as a member of the Belgian Federal Parliament.
Education[edit]
De Wever has a Master's degree in History from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL).
