Antonio Leone

Antonio Leone (January 16th, 1948) is an Italian politician and penal lawyer.

Education

He obtained a degree and the license to practice law.

Political career

He was elected for the first time in 1996 for Forza Italia party, and participated to the permanent Finance Commission and in the Commission on Terrorism and Causes of the Failure in Identifying the Responsible of Massacres.

Re-elected in 2001, always for Forza Italia, was a member of the Agriculture Commission and Finance Commission, and also served as part of Budget, Treasury and Planning Commission. He retained his seat in the third election in the parliament, as well as being a member for the third time of the Finance Commission.

In 2008 he was re-elected with Popolo della Libertà (former Forza Italia), participating another time to the Budget, Treasury and Planning Commission as well as in the Public and Private Work.

In his fifth term of office, after the 2013 electoral round in which he figured in the lists of Popolo della Libertà, he replaced the Internal Affairs Minister Angelino Alfano in the Constitutional, Presidential and Internal Affairs Commission as well as taking the same seat for European Policy Commission. Furthermore, he retained his position at the Budget, Treasury and Planning Commission.
