Antoine Borg is a current member of parliament of the Republic of Malta.

Political career[edit]

Antoine Borg's political involvement started in 2004 as member of PN Rabat Local Committee where he eventually served as treasurer and vice president. In 2005 he became member of the Executive Committee of Moviment Zaghzagh of the Nationalist Party where he served as Assistant and eventually Secretary General until 2011.

In 2009, he successfully contested the Rabat Local Council Election for Nationalist Party where he became the youngest member of the local council. In 2009, he also started hosting political radio programmes on Radio 101, where he now presents 'Newsdesk', the daily political radio show on the same radio station.

In 2012, Antoine was approved by Partit Nazzjonalista to contest on its behalf, the 6 & 7th Electoral Districts, and Rabat Local Council. On 16 March 2013 was again elected local council and Minority Leader within the Rabat Local Council. A post he had to resign following election to Parliament on 30 July 2013.

As member of Parliament, Antoine Borg is entrusted to shadow EU Funds and Presidency and is the opposition spokesperson on the subject.

Education[edit]

He attended St Elias secondary school and furthered his studies within the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants from where in 2006 he obtained, and currently holds his FCCA Qualification. He eventually became a Fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants and obtained warrant as Certified Public Accountant in 2007.

Professionally Antoine practices as Audit Manager in one of the local Audit and Accountancy Firms.
