Alun Cairns has been the Conservative MP for the Vale of Glamorgan since 2010. He is currently a minister in the Wales Office and a Government Whip. He was born in 1970.

Political Career[edit]

Alun Cairns was first elected as an MP in 2010, and became a member of the Welsh Assembly in 1999. In July 2014, Alun became Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Wales and a Government Whip.

Education[edit]

He attended Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Pontardawe and Ysgol Gyfun Ddwyieithog Ystalyfera and is a fluent Welsh speaker. He also has an MBA in Business Administration.
