Alexandros Dermentzopoulos was born in Orestiada , Evros in 1953. He is a Greek politician and civil engineer. In the national elections of March 2004, September 2007 and March 2009 he was elected member of the Greek Parliament with the party of New Democracy in the Evros region.
Political Career[edit]
He has several fully active and organized political offices in Orestiada, Didymotiho and Alexandroupolis. During the period 2004-2007 he was Divisional President of Ministry for the Environment, Physical Planning and Public works. Furthermore, he was a member of the Standing Economic Affairs Committee and member of the Special Permanent Technology Assessment Committee. For the period of 2007-2012 he was Head of the Ministry for the Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works. Moreover, he was also a member of the Standing Economic Affairs Committee, a member of the Special Permanent Technology Assessment Committee,a member of the Special Permanent Committee on Greeks Abroad and President of the Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation(PABSEC).
