Introduction

Alessandro Di Battista is a member of parliament of the Italian Chamber of Deputies for the seventeenth legislation.

Education and Professional Career

Born in 1978 in Rome, Alessandro Di Battista graduated in Performing Arts, and obtained a Master Degree in Human Rights international Safeguarding at the Sapienza University of Rome. After the degree he worked as a journalist, reporter and as an author.

Political Career

Alessandro Di Battista was elected in the 2013 general elections in the Lazio region for the “Movimento 5 Stelle” party and actually is the vice-president of the commission for foreign affairs and of the European Union, part of the permanent committee for Africa and global issues.

Special Achievements

Hon. Di Battista is thoroughly committed for the protection of Human Rights around the world. After the degree he volunteered for a year in Guatemala as a teacher, developing projects for local communities; this link with Guatemala got stronger when he started working for AMKA, an association that aims at helping the south of the world develop. In 2008 followed an education project in Congo, and worked for UNESCO dealing with right to food. For the years that follow he focused on South America by working on good practices for rural and urban development in Cile, Patagonia, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Nicaragua He studied illicit phenomena in South American countries and was commissioned to write a book on the Mafia and hit men in particular. He can speak Spanish, English and Portuguese.
