Albert Steinhauser (GRÜNE) Member of the Austrian National Council

Albert Steinhauser (15 October 1971, Vienna) is a Austrian politician and member of the green party (Grüne).

Political career

Albert Steinhauser began his political career as a Student Representative from 1993-1995 and spokesman of the 'Grünalternativen Jugend' (1995 until 1996). In 1998 he was elected to city council of Vienna where he stayed until 2007. From 2002 until 2007 Steinhauser was the local spokesman of the Green party in Vienna. Since 2004 he has been a leading member of the National Green Party. In 2006 Steinhauser was a candidate for the National Council (Austrian Parliament) during the national elections, he was however not elected. In 2007 he replaced Terezija Stoisits in the National Council. In 2008 he was re-elected.

Steinhauser played a crucial role in negotiations of the law which rehabilitates victims of Austrofachismus.

Education

Albert Steinhauser attended between1982 and 1990 a State High School in Vienna and studied Law at the University Vienna.
