Alain Fauré (born October 1, 1962) is a member of the French National Assembly for the second constituency of Ariége, on the southern French border with Spain and Andorra. Fauré is also currently the Mayor of Pujol.

Political Career

Fauré first entered politics in 1989, when he became the Deputy Mayor of Les Pujol (a group of townships) in charge of Education.

In 2001, Fauré was elected Mayor of Pujols, a position he still holds.

In 2007, Fauré was also elected to the French National Assembly as a member of the French Socialist Party. Since his reelection to the National Assembly in 2012, Fauré has been focusing on Social Justice and Educational policy.

Education

Fauré studied Social Sciences at Rambaud College in Toulouse. He also served in the French military until entering his professional career in the early 1980's.
