Ľubomír Galko

Ľubomír Galko (born on the 14th of February, 1968 in Klieština) is a Slovak Politician, who is member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. Galko is the chairman of the political party Freedom and Solidarity (SaS), his residence is Stupava. He was former Minister of Defense of Slovakia. He lives in Stupava near Bratislava.

Political career

Galko is momentally member of the Special Control Committee for the Control of the Activities of the Military Intelligence Service, member of the Committee on Defence and Security and also member of the Permanent Delegation of Slovak Parliament in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. From 2010 to 2011 he was the Minister of Defense of Slovakia in the Government of Iveta Radičová. From 1990 to 1999, Galko was member of the political party Democratic Left.

Education

Galko graduated at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Comenius University in Bratislava.
