Basilia Sanz Murillo, born 30 October 1965 in Eibar (Gipuzkoa), is a Spanish senator representing the Spanish province of Sevilla in the 10th Congress of Deputies. Sanz Murillo is a member of the Spanish Socialist Worker’s Party, Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE).

Political Career

Basilia Sanz Murrillo began her political career when she was appointed Second Deputy Mayor in 1995 to the city council of Dos Hermanas (Sevilla). She held that possition until 2003, when she was appointed Deputy Mayor of the same city, and she is still occupying this postion. Between 2003 and 2004 she was appointed Provincial Deputy of Sevilla. In the Spanish Senate she is the Second Secretary within the Committee on International Development and Cooperation. Sanz Murillo is also a spokeswoman on the Finance and Government Committee.


Education

Basilia Sanz Murillo has a joint honours degree in History and Geography.
