Ing. Bc. Miroslav Krejca, PhD. was born on February 21, 1956, in city of Pisek. He is a Czech politician, senator for district of Strakonice, councilor of the city of Pisek, a former member of Social Democrats and former rector VŠTE.

Education

After graduating from high industrial school he worked as a designer in city of Ceske Budejovice. In 1985 he graduated from engineering studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University, where he also worked as an academic research assistant and later the vice-director of the Department of Irrigation. In 2006, he became the first the Rector of University of Technology and Economics in Czech Budejovice.

Political career

For fourteen years, since 1997, he was a member of Social Democrats. He sits at the Assembly of city of Pisek. In the years 2000-2008 he was a member of the Assembly of the South Bohemian Region. In 2008, he won the second round of Senate elections in district of Strakonicko.
