In 2003 she was elected as a Member of the Chamber of Representatives. She remained there until 2007. After the federal elections in 2014, she was elected again as a Congresswoman. Since 2006, Jiroflée has also been a deputy for the province of Flemish Brabant. She stopped being a local councillor and retired form the Leuven political scene, after she moved to Haacht in 2009. Since 2013, she has been a councillor in Haacht and is also the President of the City Council.
