− | + | He got into Croatian politics soon after the establishment of the multiparty system in Croatia. In 1990 he became the President of the local community; Kaštel Gomilica, and in 1992 became a member of the Croatian Democratic Party. After the local elections in 1993 he became the Vice President of the City Council Kaštela, and in 1997 became the mayor of the town of Kaštela. He remained at the mentioned position for two terms, and in 2005 he became the County Prefect of the Split-Dalmatia County. In the 2009 local elections he entered the re-election which resulted in his victory in the second round after defeating his rival Veljan Radojković with 58.71% of the votes in his favour. His parliamentary mandate began on 22 December 2011. On the same date he began the suspension of his term of office and his substitute is Dinko Bošnjak. The suspension of the his term of office ceased on 19 June 2013. His parliamentary functions include him being a member of the Physical Planning and Construction Committee and the Committee on Maritime Affairs, Transportation and Infrastructure. | |
