He was also vice-president of the Association of Support for European Integration and an active participant in the activities of the Baltic Tourism Commission and a member of the Pomeranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is a member of the National Geographic Society. For his contribution to tourism in 2001, he was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the Main Board PTTK. In 2007 he was Gentleman of the Year.
