Amir Adan was born in 1985 in Stockholm, Sweden. His father is from Somalia and his mother is from Sweden. He is a member of the Swedish parliament representing the Moderate Party since 2010.

Amir Adan started his political career within the youth organisation of the Moderate Party called MUF (Moderata Ungdoms Förbundet). There he was a member of the MUF Stockholm and MUF Västerort. Before he was elected as a member of parliament he was working as a account manager. In the elections of 2010 he was voted into parliament representing the Moderate Party and the Stockholm constituency.
