David Wright MP is a member of parliament for the constituency of Telford, he is a member of the Labour Party and has been in office since 2001.

Biography[edit]

David Wright was born in Telford in 1966. He was educated at Wrockwardine Wood Comprehensive School before going on to study at New College in Wellington and Wolverhampton Polytechnic, where he graduated in 1988 with a BA Honours in Humanities.

Political Career[edit]

Before his election to parliament David worked as Housing Strategy Manager with Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council. Since being elected to parliament David has been a member of Administration Committee, the Environmental Audit Select Committee, the Department for Communities and Local Government Select Committee and the Procedure Committee. David has one of best attendance records of all MPs in parliament and is a full-time Member of Parliament. He has fought for hospital services at the Princess Royal Hospital, campaigned for more jobs in Telford, worked to secure the regeneration of local communities, lobbied to deliver the multi million pound Building Schools for the Future programme and taken up individual casework on behalf of thousands of constituents and many community organisations.
