Vincent Van Quickenborne was born on August 1st 1973 in Gent (Belgium). He is a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives for the Flemish Liberal Party (Open VLD). He is also mayor of Kortenrijk.

Political Career[edit]

Van Quickenborne started his political career in 1999 as Belgian senator for Open VLD where he stayed until 2003. Since 2001 he has been a councillor in Kortrijk, the city of which he has been mayor since 2013. From 2003 to 2007, he was part of the Belgian Government Verhofstadt 2 as State Secretary of Administrative Simplification. Between 2008 and 2011, he was Minister of Business and Simplification. That same year he became Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Pensions (2011-2012). From 2009 to 2012 he was vice-chairman of the Flemish liberals, Open VLD. Since 2012, he has been a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives for Open VLD.

Education[edit]

He graduated in law at the KU Leuven.
