Servais Verherstraeten

Servais Verherstraeten was born on January 19th 1960 in Balen. He is a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives for the Flemish Christian Democratic Party (CD&V).

Political Career[edit]

Servais Verherstraeten started his political career in 1988 when he got elected as a councillor in Mol. He became alderman for Public Works. He got re-elected in 1994 and became first alderman in Mol. Since May 21st 1995, he has been a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives for the Flemish Christian Democrats. On December 11th 2011, he became State Secretary for State Reform in the Government Di Rupo. Two years later on March 5th 2013, he became responsible for Sustainable Development as well as next to State Reform.

He graduated in law from KU Leuven.
